Michael

Michael is an artist first, barber second, a distinction that shows in everything he does. Licensed by the New York State board, he completed barber school in lower Manhattan back in 2008 and has spent the 14 years since honing a craft he treats as a genuine art form, driven by a passion for helping New Yorkers look and feel their absolute best. That pursuit of mastery took him to Milan in 2019, where he studied men's style and bespoke grooming at the source. Michael has also carved out a signature all his own: an unconventional straight-razor technique that turned into a viral TikTok series, racking up over 60 million views and putting Chaps & Co's NYC branch on the map. Outside the chair, his interests read like an extension of his work; art, European style, travel, and a fine appreciation for luxury fragrance. As Michael puts it: "Us as men deserve the best experiences for ourselves. A good haircut experience, hot shave, attention to detail, and quality fragrance that compliments your mood. I genuinely believe that if you feel good you look good, and if you look good you feel good. To me, that is priceless.
