Meet Max
Max's path into barbering started almost as a joke. Caught between careers, he sat down with his best friend and asked what he should do with his life, and the answer came instantly: become a barber. They both laughed it off, but within 10 minutes they'd found a trainer taking on new barbers, and a month of 12-hour daily training later, Max opened his own barbershop in Albania, charging just $1 a haircut to get started. His first day is a memory he still holds onto: cutting his very first client's hair in a barbershop that wasn't even ready yet, hands shaking from nerves, having forgotten the apron entirely in the chaos of it all, until his best friend, right there beside him, simply said, "Put the apron on first."
Max has since mastered scissor cutting, a craft he still finds new depths in, always working with a clear vision for how a client's hair will grow, shaping texture and head shape with scissors rather than reaching for a clipper. He's particular about consultations too, taking at least five minutes with every new client to get it right from the start.
Outside the shop, Max keeps a full plate: fishing, writing, reading, cooking, and picking up new languages.
