Meet Jonas

Most people with a master's degree in clinical psychology don't become barbers. Jonas did. After three months working as a psychologist, he left the profession, returned to the skill he had been quietly building since high school, and has not gone back. On the walls of his Algerian barbershop, the degree is nowhere to be seen. The scissors are. He started the way few barbers do: in a high school classroom, cutting friends' hair after watching YouTube tutorials the night before. From those sessions to opening his own shop in Algeria to arriving at Chaps in Dubai, the craft moved forward with him. What changed was the depth, not the obsession. At Chaps D3, he brings a barber's skill and a psychologist's ear. Clients leave feeling better than they arrived.
