At sixteen, Issy was modelling for L'Oréal, Wella and Toni&Guy. It gave her a technical education few barbers have: what good hair looks like under a professional lens, how a brand carries craft. Seven years later she made a deliberate choice, leaving hairdressing entirely to focus on barbering, where she believed the standards of precision were higher. She built her skills in Bournemouth's barbershop scene before making the move to Dubai, bringing a background genuinely unusual in the industry: trained in luxury hair at sixteen, retrained in precision men's barbering at her own choosing. At Chaps JLT, she now holds the role of lead barber and the team's lead educator and trainer.
