Halfway through a number four buzz cut, the guard slipped off Cesar's clipper without him noticing. In a second, he went from a four to a zero, a clean patch shaved straight across the top of his client's head. What he remembers most isn't the mistake; it's how calm and kind the client was. He arrived at barbering sideways: a PE teacher and football coach in Venezuela who started cutting hair to support a newborn son.
